ICON plc, the Dublin-based global provider of drug and device development and commercialisation services, recently released figures for their Quarter 1 performance. The company has reported revenue of $715.1 million, representing a 6.0% year on year increase or 6.5% on a constant currency basis, indicating massive growth.
They are also currently providing clinical monitoring and safety oversight on a number of new Covid-19 vaccine trials.
CEO Dr. Steve Cutler said that ICON is deeply committed to driving research into Covid-19 and to helping clients track the huge amount of information and reporting on the novel coronavirus.
We have established the Coronavirus Observatory, a free tool which applies AI analysis and data visualisation to COVID-19 news and social media, providing updates on the latest vaccine trials and insights into trending topics driving Coronavirus reporting.
With a mission to accelerate the development of drugs and devices that save lives and improve quality of life, ICON plc made the decision in February this year to quickly mobilise its Vaccines, Infectious Diseases and Government and Public Health Solutions resources to assist both government and commercial clients in addressing the Covid-19 global threat.
ICON has also created a Coronavirus Observatory which uses AI analysis and data visualisation to provide updates on the latest clinical trials and insights into trending topics related to Covid-19. The Observatory breaks down the global impact of the virus, looks at trending topics per country, and highlights important perspectives from the key organisations, including non-governmental organisations, public health authorities and the medical science community.
The company, which specialises in the strategic development, management and analysis of programs that support clinical development, was founded in Ireland in 1990. It operates from 98 locations in 40 countries and has over 15,000 employees.
